England's captain, Ben Stokes, affirmed that he currently embodies the same level of fitness that fans witnessed during 2019 and 2020, as he gears up for an action-packed Ashes summer. With a one-off Test against Ireland and the highly anticipated Ashes series against Australia at home, England is ready to face these challenges head-on.

England Test captain Ben Stokes is confident about his fitness ahead of the upcoming Ashes summer. Recalling his exceptional performance during Australia's last visit, Stokes has experienced a remarkable turnaround for the England team since taking on the captaincy. Under his leadership, the team has won 10 out of 12 Tests, employing the Bazball mantra.

While Stokes encountered some injury issues in the recent IPL 2023 campaign, he now feels back in his prime, ready to contribute with both bat and ball. Speaking to the ICC, Stokes expressed his satisfaction with his current fitness level.

"I've reached a point where I have no regrets or doubts about my ability to play a full role with the ball this summer," Stokes shared. "I feel like I'm back to the same level I was in 2019 and 2020 in terms of my physical condition and fitness."

Stokes is committed to participating in all the upcoming games, as England prepares for six Tests against Ireland and Australia. He humorously mentioned that unless he's unable to walk, he will be on the field, showcasing his dedication to the team.

England's adoption of the Bazball mantra has generated significant interest in the cricketing world, with questions arising about its sustainability, especially with the Ashes series at stake. Stokes emphasized that the team will continue to play in the same style, regardless of the stakes.

"We've found a winning formula that brings out the best in each individual and the team," Stokes explained. "While it may not always work, we've seen the success it can bring. Our approach won't change based on the opposition because it suits the current group of players in our dressing room."

With Stokes leading the team with renewed fitness and a winning mentality, England is poised to tackle the challenges that lie ahead in the Ashes summer and continue their impactful Bazball approach.
